Our History
SunModo began in 2008 in Vancouver, WA when founder Tony Liu could not find a PV racking system that would meet his expectations of long-term performance quality while being low cost. With metallurgy and thermal dynamics expertise, Tony developed the ground mount system with auger for the Portland Water Bureau Groundwater Project, the largest ground mount of its kind in Oregon and SunModo’s first project.

SunModo’s innovative TopTile™ Mount is the world’s first PV mounting system that is mounted entirely above the tiles. The mounting system spares an installer the need to deconstruct the tile roof, unseat the battens or leave unsealed fasteners in the underlayment. The system also allows installation on the ridges of curved tiles for superior water leak protection. The TopTile Mounts are easy to install which significantly reduces installation time. Ground Mount
The SunBeam System is versatile, sustainable and cost effective. It can be easily deployed as a ground mounted racking system. When used for ground mounting steel supports are integrated into this scalable system. Our unique drive-in earth anchors represent one of three choices for Ground Mounted Solar Arrays; your choice of traditional post and concrete, ballasted “Eco-block” mount, or the earth auger system. SunModo offers a variety of ground mount systems (both panel landscape and portrait), easily configured using our steel casting building blocks of caps, sliders, rails, and tilt clamps.
SunModo offers the next generation Ground Mount System with SunTurf™. The streamlined design combines the strength of Helio Rails with steel pipes to create the perfect ground mount solution. SunTurf™ Ground Mount System easily integrate Helio Rails with 2-inch Schedule 40 steel pipes. No drilling is required to attach the aluminum rails to the horizontal pipe. Optional bracing can provide additional structural rigidity for sites with high snow or wind load conditions. Anchor any ground mount installation using one of our fountain types including helical piles, precast ballasts and concrete piers.
